Farewell to 2007 with some Stats

2007 has been a great year for uLinkx. After we revamp our site back in February, it took a while before we started getting good traffic. But, slowly it started picking up and after few good blog post by bloggers, it was smooth journey.

First big push we got after we launched Cricket centric site http://cricket.ulinkx.com/. It boosted our traffic numbers to around 1 million page views/month back in March/April. At the same time, iGoogle widgets were also getting popular and boosted our traffic number to 2.5 million page views/month at the end of May. uLinkx Google Gadgets

We added many features to enhance the user video watching experience, which constantly bring back users to our site. We also launched our Facebook application called “I Love Videos”, which was moderately successful.

Even though, we didn’t do formal release for last couple of months, we constantly try to improve underlying layer to enhance the functionality.

Stay tune for big release in early next year.

Thanks a lot to all of you for your constant support, comments and suggestion to make it better. Without our loyal visitors, we would not have crossed 6 million page views/month. We hope to keep momentum going next year.

We are launching a customized application for the FaceBook platform. Millions of FaceBook users, who are web video aficionados, will be able to search, view, share and organize video clips from all major video sharing sites within their FaceBook profile. New features to enhance video searching and watching experience

uLinkx has grown dramatically and is on track to surpass 2.5 million page views this month.

We have added many features like customizable all in one video page, timeline for popular videos, family filter and enhanced searching.

Customizable All In One Video page feature provides access to popular videos from many video sharing web sites, like Youtube, Google videos, MySpace, Metacafe, Reuters, Yahoo, Revver, Grouper, iFilm, Dailymotion and many more sites on a single page. It provides videos under different categories like News, Sports, Entertainment and Music
Users can select uLinkx popular videos based on timeline ( Today, Week, Month and All Time )
uLinkx video search results have been enhanced to allow user to sort search results based on date besides relevance
Family Filter feature allow user to screen out inappropriate videos based on preference (On|Off)
User can import their YouTube videos. On Youtube video page, clicking on the user’s link will take you to the import video page

Latest trend on the web is to have a start page where people can organize their news, stocks, weather data etc. Google personalized page, Netvibes and Pageflakes are some of the exmaple of start page.

More and more people are using Google personalized home page to organize their favorite RSS feeds & gadgets. People can categorize their page by adding it to different tabs, e.g. Home, Blogs, Finance, Sports. We thought, why not provide functionality where people can organize their videos.
